Ronco  Atlas

history

The identity of a place is marked by its history. In Ronco it was shaped by small events and big disasters like the first World War or the flood calamity of 1966 during which the village remained completely isolated from the rest of the world for a while.

The enclosed drawing is a large-format work over several panels by Roswitha Asche. It represents the timber-rafting from the Vanoi-valley to Venice in the 16th century.
