Fragile infrastructures keep Ronco and the Vanoi valley alive. They have to be relentlessly renewed and taken care of. In this isolated environment, the question arises as to the appropriateness of the interventions and their actual economic benefit for the valley.

This sections portrays various infrastructures, used and unused. The roads, pathways and bridges are significant and very visible structures in the landscape.

Other infrastructures are virtually invisible. The sewage system for instance is only perceptible by means of the manholes on the ground. It seems almost surreal to find them in such remote places.

Display panels in the village are a form of infrastructure which hardly touches the landscape. Nevertheless, they play a significant role in maintaining the flow of information between the villagers.
