tourism

From the perspective of tourism, the Vanoi is a peripheral region compared to the neighbouring Primiero which leads to the dolomite-peaks and the ski resort of San Martino. The valley has thus been untroubled by the establishment of mass tourism, remaining calm and peaceful.

This section considers the present offer in terms of cultural activities, accommodation and restauration and provides statistical data on the subject, pointing out the actual situation in the Vanoi.

The Passo Brocon above Ronco is one of the only locations where one can ski. A medium-sized ski-slope is in operation further down the road. Nevertheless, the old ski lift located next to the pass is not used anymore and the two hotels are rarely fully booked.

The Vanoi constitutes an ideal setting for nature-based and socially-responsible tourism. A particular model in this field, which has been adopted by many Italian hoteliers, is called albergo diffuso. An albergo diffuso is a hotel made up of a cluster of small reused dwellings or similar spaces scattered in an existing settlement. Some case studies are examined in order to understand the requirements and the working principles of this type of accommodation.
