I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Computational Science and Engineering laboratory at ETH Zürich. I received my PhD in Aeronautical Engineering from Caltech in 2014, and called the beautiful campus home for about 5 years. My current research involves studying the influence of collective behavior on bio-locomotion, and using numerical optimization and machine learning tools to facilitate both applied and fundamental studies of fluid mechanics.

My previous research involved theoretical and computational investigation of passive scalar mixing in turbulent flows. The focus of the work was on ascertaining how physical and mathematical tools could be leveraged to create and improve subgrid scale models for scalar transport. Part of my work also involved designing novel numerical schemes for scalar transport, which improved the physical and computational performance of turbulent simulations significantly.
