Cyril Brunner

Cyril Brunner was born in 1987 and grew up in Langendorf, Switzerland. He did an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory worker, followed by four years of work experience, one of which he spent in Delaware, USA. After the technical vocational baccalaureate, he studied Aviation at the ZHAW for one year. Due to the lack of engineering courses, Cyril changed the major of his studies to mechanical engineering, where he learned the desired skills to transfer some of the many conceptual ideas of his into working platforms. After having finished his Bachelor’s degree, he took on the challenge of the Master’s degree at the ETH Zurich with a focus in thermo-and fluid dynamics. Currently, as a member of Prof. Dr. Ulrike Lohmann's group, Cyril is performing lab and field research in the formation and evolution of ice clouds with a special interest on their impact on climate. The first part of his project is to automate the HINC. For recreation, Cyril likes to bike, hike, ski, take photos and fly gliders (for him this hobby is like applied fluid dynamics).
