Here's how you can disable the red LED in the ThinkPad logo:
Prerequisites
You need a kernel compiled with CONFIG_THINKPAD_ACPI_UNSAFE_LEDS=y
and the boot parameter ec_sys.write_support=1
set.

Run: echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/tpacpi::lid_logo_dot/brightness
systemd service
This systemd-service disables the red power LED on the lid.
Create a service file at: /etc/systemd/system/thinkpad-disable-led.service
with the following content:

Description=Disables the red logo LED at startup
After=basic.target suspend.target
[Service]
Type=exec
ExecStart=sh -c "echo 0 | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/tpacpi::lid_logo_dot/brightness "
[Install]
WantedBy=basic.target suspend.target
- enable it at startup
sudo systemctl enable thinkpad-disable-led.service
- to start immediately:
sudo systemctl start thinkpad-disable-led.service
- to enable the LEDs again after the next reboot:
sudo systemctl disable thinkpad-disable-led.service
- And to enable it immediately:
echo 1 | sudo tee /sys/class/leds/tpacpi::lid_logo_dot/brightness
- And to enable it immediately:
